We just wanted to post a quick update to keep the community in the loop with respect to the Jaffari development application.

As you may know, the City of Vaughan passed a resolution on May 5th giving the applicant until May 31 to submit a revised concept plan and a July 10 deadline to submit a full application. In the event that they were unable to comply, the city asked that the applicant abandon their original application.

A revised concept plan/drawing was apparently shared with the city at the end of May and the city asked the applicant to make numerous changes to this plan in order to meet the city’s stated development guidelines for this property and to address the concerns raised by our community.

On July 9 (one day before the July 10 deadline), the applicant submitted a letter to the City of Vaughan indicating that they would not be able to meet the July 10 deadline for submitting a revised application but they were working on a completely new proposal which was drastically different than their original application.

The applicant will be sharing the details of this revised proposal with us tomorrow and we will post additional information on this new plan as soon as we have more information to share.
